1. What You Are Buying​

When you purchase Mask, you are buying a one-time app license that unlocks app functionality.

2. What Is Not Included​

A Mask purchase does not include:

  • API call credits from any model platform
  • Subscription fees for any model platform
  • Token/request billing charged by third-party providers

3. Cost Structure (Important)​

Your total cost typically has two parts:

  1. App license fee (one-time purchase)
  2. Model usage fees (billed by third-party providers)

4. Why Billing Is Separated​

Mask is a client application and does not operate third-party model infrastructure. Because you can freely choose providers, API usage is billed by the provider you use.

5. Refund and Support Scope​

  • App-license-related refunds follow the official policy of your purchase channel.
  • Third-party API fee refunds must be requested from the provider directly. Mask cannot process those refunds on your behalf.

6. Differences Between the Mac App Store Build and the Creem Build​

Both are official ways to purchase Mask, but they differ in purchase flow and a few capabilities:

Mac App Store build​

  • Purchased through the App Store
  • Supports the App Store restore-purchases flow
  • Does not support auto page-turn at this time due to Apple's permission limits
  • Does not support manual license entry or manual license deactivation

Creem build​

  • Purchased through the official website
  • Lets you activate the app by entering a license key inside the app
  • Supports auto page-turn
  • Supports manual license deactivation when changing devices

If auto page-turn matters to you, the Creem build is the better fit. If you prefer the App Store purchase and restore flow, choose the Mac App Store build instead.

7. Recommendations Before Purchase​

  • Check whether your target model platform is reliably accessible in your region.
  • Test model quality with a small budget before long-term usage.
  • Watch provider announcements for pricing, rate limit, and free-tier changes.

8. Common Misunderstandings​

Misunderstanding A: Buying the app means unlimited model usage​

No. Model usage always depends on your own API account quota and billing status.

Misunderstanding B: Funding a model account unlocks app features​

No. Model account billing and app licensing are separate systems.
